Editor's Notes
August has come and gone, so we are falling behind on the release of
this quarterly newsletter. While summer was hitting in Europe, Asia seemed to
get busy and it looks like good business prospects are beginning to really
materialize for the coming quarter.

WINDOWS ACTIVE DIRECTORY SUPPORT IN PCVUE
Support for Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008
A tool for implementing the user management strategy
and rights within the organisation
Active Directory comply with the LDAP protocol
(Lightweight Directory Access Protocol)
In distributed PcVue applications, use of a
domain controller is often offered by the IT service.

In practice: On the PcVue side :
Set up the profiles
Link the profiles to groups of users
in the domain
The users are not referenced in PcVue
The changes are effective without
being configured in PcVue
Add
Delete Disable users
Change the allocation of users to
groups
|
When a user logs in to PcVue, Windows authentication is
invoked, If there is a domain controller, PcVue retrieves the associated group and decides which profile to activate. If
there is no matching account in the Active Directory, PcVues built-in user management is
invoked.

SI KOREA DATA END USER : HYUNDAI MOTORS
Purpose : Weld Bead Inspection System using
PcVue for Electronic Beam Welding Machine
PcVue is used on 8 simultaneous
lines to check the welding quality and defects. The system is connected to
Omron electronic beam sensors via Melsec Q series Mitsubishi PLCs and it is
able to record and display trends for 20 variables every 20ms. The system is
able to check the following parameters :
Weld Bead Inspection, Position of Weld Bead, Height of weld beads,
Judgement of Welding quality, detection of spatter etc

SNMP PROTOCOLS
Today industrial
automated application use more and more IP devices. Hence the need to have

Display time stamped and quality of a variable using
a standard animation
Solution
Applies to:
PcVue version >= 8.0
Purpose:
To display the time stamp of a variable you need to
use a simple Display register animation and add the extension .#_T
to the variable.

The format need to be
selected as custom and select the receive unit as DATE
To display the quality of a
variable you need to use a simple Display register animation and add the
extension .#_Q to the variable.
The format is auto.
It displaysthe quality as OPC
quality ie 192 is good quality.
